'Famous Jameis' Florida State Hosts Nevada

Nevada Travels to Tallahassee to Take On Jameis Winston and Florida State

Florida State finally gets to kick things off at home this season. Jameis Winston gave fans a great show in Pittsburgh on Labor Day, and that left fans wanting more. Clearly, we can't expect the same performance from Winston, can we?
Jimbo Fisher has been coaching him up on the things he wants to see corrected, and I am sure Winston was well aware of a couple mistakes he made (seeing as how he mentioned them in the post game press conference). Fisher has most likely mentioned sliding instead of trying to break tackles. Overall, I am sure Winston learned a lot after game 1 and in the practices that followed.
So, what can we really expect from 'Famous Jameis' in the Noles' Home Opener? Will it be much like the first performance? Only time will tell, but I promise it will be fun to watch.
Shifting gears a little bit..... Jimbo Fisher announced this week that Karlos Williams (who had been playing Safety) will be playing running-back. The move was made last week, and Williams appears to be picking up on things pretty fast. My immediate reaction was that it was because junior running-back, James Wilder Jr., may have injured his shoulder in the Pitt game. Fisher has said that he did bruise it, but it wasn't serious; he should be fine. Fisher also said that the move wasn't made because of the possible injury to Wilder, but that it is a way for the Noles to get Williams on the field more. He seemed to be a sure lock for a starting job on defense this season, but Jeremy Pruitt had other things in mind. Karlos Williams is a play maker, he has the size and speed, and he can add another look to an already dangerous offense.
Now, the questions about the defense..... I did get a chance to watch a replay of the game, and yes, I am still pretty nervous about this defense. They looked slow on the pass rush, almost scared. There were some blown coverages in the secondary. Again though, it wasn't anything to get TOO mad about..... But it was Pitt, and if the Noles expect to get back to the ACC Title game, then they have got to get things running smoothly on defense. It will be interesting to see how the defense adjusts and how much they have learned after watching film from game one. If they can make huge strides every week, then they could really be good by the time they have to roll into Death Valley to take on Clemson.
It should be a great game to watch this weekend. Jameis Winston will get to play his first game in Doak Campbell Stadium and I am sure he won't disappoint fans. Check back later this week for my Key Games to Watch and My Picks for Week 3. GO NOLES!
