First Take on Week 2

Early Thoughts Week 2

Wow, there were some great games on Saturday. I lost some games today with my picks but I can't complain.....they were great games to watch. There were a few surprises out there too. Don't forget to check us out on Facebook and give us a 'like'.

Here are some of the games that make the cut for recap this week.

Miami didn't show up against Kansas State. Miami looked pretty good in week 1, but this just goes to show that Week 1 can be deceiving. 52-13 Wildcats Roll.

Penn State stuggles and falls short to Virginia. 17-16 Cavaliers Win. The season isn't lost yet for Penn State, but it's looking pretty dark right now.

Big game in College Station, Texas A&M comes out strong in the first half but couldn't find any offense in the 2nd half.
Gators battle back and win 20-17.

UPSET ALERT!!
Arkansas hosted UL-Monroe. Tyler Wilson leaves the game with suspected collar-bone injury and UL-Monroe takes it to OT and pulls off the upset. 34-31 UL-Monroe WINS!

Nebraska traveled to UCLA and falls in a terrible defensive showing. Nebraska let me down in this one. I really thought that their defense would be what changed the game....well, it was.
The Bruins hang on.....36-30

Georgia headed to Missouri and took care of business. Close game early but as I thought it would, the depth and SEC speed of Georgia was the difference. Bulldogs roll, 41-20.

Check us out on Facebook.

Wake Forest sneaks by North Carolina. It wasn't one of my 'pick' games..... but I thought surely North Carolina would get it done in this one. 28-27, Deamon Deacons win.

A game that I have to mention, Florida State vs Savannah State. This game had a 69.5 point spread. Would the Noles cover? We may never know. The game was called due to weather in the 3rd qtr. 55-0. The irony may be the missed extra point that may have caused FSU to only score 69 points. However, FSU's third string was in and still looked like they were ready to throw another 21 points on top of that. So, put a * next to this one. 55-0 with 8 minutes left in the third qtr. Starters were pulled after 1st qtr.

As you can see, there were many great games to watch on Saturday. Some with the expected results, and a few with the unexpected upsets. It's only Week 2. Check back Monday as I recap this weekend in College Football. I am 3-2 for the weekend and 7-3 for the season so far.
