Week 10 Recap and BCS

Week 10 Recap and the BCS

If you thought there was only two big games to keep an eye on this past weekend, you were wrong. All eyes were on Bama vs LSU and Oregon vs USC, both of which turned out to be great games......However, what about the games we overlooked? I only made 4 picks because I thought the rest of the games being played would be business as usual, but Pitt has something to say about that.

Check out our latest poll question:

I picked TCU to give West Virginia their third loss in a row and they did....Not only that, I picked the score to be 38-35, and the actual score was 39-38. Another close one...

I picked Oregon over USC. I didn't think it would be as close as it was, but Oregon still got the job done.

Alabama over LSU? Yep I picked that outcome as well, and besides LSU fans, who didn't see that coming? LSU may have played better most of the game, but Bama made the plays when it was crunch time.

I picked Kansas State, and they got it done. It might have come at a high price though. Klein went down with a head injury, most likely a concussion..... So, he may be out next week. That would be a huge blow to Kansas State.

These were, what I thought, going to be great games, and the only games that mattered. Then you have little old Pitt playing at Notre Dame. The Irish were out-played the entire game, but Pitt couldn't put them away. Notre Dame still looks like they could be a pretender. They are doing everything they can to blend in with the other top three teams. However, the "Camo" is starting to rub off. USC suddenly looks like a team that could take down Notre Dame. Even with the Trojans' loss to Oregon, they still look dangerous.

Then there was Missouri at Florida. The Gators were big favorites. They were expected to take care of business with no problems, but Missouri had other plans. Florida may have won the game, but they were exposed....again. Georgia showed some of the Gators' weaknesses and flaws, and Missouri came out and did the same thing. Missouri is not a great football team. Maybe Florida overlooked them a little bit? No, I am not sure that was it. I have to give Muschamp credit. He has done a great job this season in masking Florida's flaws, and at the same time, he has done a great job at finding what they do well and rolling with it. It will be an interesting final few weeks for the Gators.

Current BCS Top 10 Standings:
  1. Alabama
  2. Kansas State
  3. Oregon
  4. Notre Dame
  5. Georgia
  6. Florida
  7. LSU
  8. South Carolina
  9. Louisville
  10. Florida State

This past week just shows how anything can happen on Saturday. I did finish 4-0 in picks this weekend, and I wish I had gone as far as picking three or four more. I will take it, though. That moves my season total to 43-17. The coming weeks will have some great matchups and key games to pick from.
